Visitor's Permit (Visa-Free Entry)

Pakistani nationals need no visa in advance — an Immigration Officer grants a visitor's permit of up to three months on arrival. It covers tourism, family visits, medical treatment and business meetings such as conferences, supplier negotiations and site inspections, but never employment or study.

Granted on arrival at the immigration deskNo fee
  • Passport valid at least six months beyond the date of arrival
  • Confirmed return or onward ticket
  • Hotel booking, or a host's letter with their address in St Vincent
  • Bank statements for the last three to six months showing funds for the stay
  • Valid transit visa for the UK, US, Canadian or Schengen airport you connect through (Barbados and Trinidad need none)

Extension of Stay

Extends the permit granted on arrival for a longer holiday, an extended family visit, convalescence or ongoing medical treatment. Applied for in person at the Immigration Head Office in Kingstown, or at the Bequia, Mustique, Canouan or Union Island port offices.

Often decided the same visit — apply at least a week before your permit expiresEC$75 cash per month or part of a month
  • Application filed before the current permit expires
  • Passport showing the original entry stamp and permitted date
  • Written reason for the extension — a doctor's or hospital letter, or a host's letter
  • Bank statement showing funds for the extended period
  • Proof of accommodation and an onward or return ticket

Study Permission (Extension of Stay for Students)

St Vincent issues no student visa from abroad. Pakistani students at Trinity Medical Sciences University, Saint James School of Medicine or the SVG Community College enter visa-free and the institution regularises their status with Immigration in Kingstown through an extension of stay endorsed for study, renewed each term or academic year.

Arranged after arrival and enrolment — allow 2 to 6 weeksEC$75 per month or part month for the extension of stay, plus institution fees
  • Acceptance or enrolment letter from the St Vincent institution
  • Receipt showing tuition paid and bank statements covering living costs
  • FSc/BSc transcripts and degree certificates attested by IBCC or HEC
  • Passport valid for at least the first year of the programme

Work Permit (Employer-Sponsored)

The only lawful route to employment for a non-national. Your Vincentian employer applies to the Ministry of National Security in Kingstown for permission to employ you; the permit is tied to that job, that employer and a fixed period, and must be renewed. You cannot lodge the application yourself.

6 to 12 weeks after the employer files; longer for regulated professionsEmployer-paid, set by the Ministry of National Security — indicatively EC$1,000 to EC$3,000 for a one-year permit; confirm the current schedule before budgeting
  • Signed job offer or contract from an employer registered in St Vincent
  • Employer's written justification that no suitably qualified Vincentian or CARICOM national is available
  • HEC-attested degrees, professional registration and experience letters
  • Police Character Certificate from Pakistan, and a medical report
  • Passport bio-page copy and two recent passport photographs

Self-Employed / Business Owner Work Permit

For Pakistanis setting up a business in tourism, yachting services, retail, agri-processing or IT. St Vincent has no investor visa and no citizenship-by-investment programme — you incorporate a company, usually with Invest SVG's facilitation, and hold a work permit as its director or self-employed operator.

2 to 4 months including company incorporationCompany incorporation fees plus the annual work permit fee (indicatively EC$1,000 to EC$3,000 per year)
  • Business plan with bank statements proving the investment funds and their source
  • Certificate of incorporation from the SVG Commerce and Intellectual Property Office
  • Alien Land Holding Licence if you are acquiring land or property
  • Named list of Vincentian jobs created, with National Insurance Services registration
  • Police Character Certificate from Pakistan

Permanent Residence

Discretionary residence status granted through the Ministry of National Security, normally after several years of continuous lawful residence on renewed work permits. There is no published qualifying period and no entitlement — it ends the need to re-apply for a job-specific permit each time you change employer.

6 to 18 months, and entirely discretionaryAssessed case by case — confirm current fees with the Ministry of National Security
  • Passport stamps and expired permits evidencing continuous lawful residence
  • Police certificates from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and from Pakistan
  • Bank statements, audited business accounts or a property deed showing income and ties
  • Two written character references from Vincentian citizens
  • Medical certificate from a registered practitioner in St Vincent

Dependants of a Work Permit Holder

St Vincent issues no separate dependant visa. A spouse and children under 18 enter visa-free and remain on extensions of stay renewed in step with the main work permit. A dependent spouse cannot take any paid work without obtaining a work permit in their own right.

Aligned with the main work permitEC$75 per month or part month per dependant

Spouse of a Vincentian Citizen — Residence and Citizenship by Registration

The foreign spouse of a citizen of St Vincent and the Grenadines may be granted permission to reside and, in time, apply to be registered as a citizen. Registration is not automatic on marriage — the marriage must be genuine and subsisting and residence on the island is expected.

6 to 12 months, and discretionarySet by the Ministry of National Security — confirm current residence and registration fees
  • Marriage certificate registered with the SVG Registry, or a NADRA certificate attested and apostilled if you married in Pakistan
  • Spouse's Vincentian passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate

Why St Vincent

What makes St Vincent & the Grenadines worth it

Visa-free for Pakistani passports

Pakistan is not on St Vincent's entry-visa list, so there is no embassy application and no visa fee — an Immigration Officer grants a visitor's permit of up to three months on arrival at Argyle International Airport. Getting there is the real work: there are no direct flights from Pakistan.

US-model medical schools on the island

Trinity Medical Sciences University and Saint James School of Medicine, which moved its whole operation to St Vincent in 2024, teach MD basic sciences in English on the island with clinical rotations in the United States. These are Caribbean medical schools — a real route, but US residency matching is competitive and should be planned from year one.

Work permits follow a genuine job offer

Employers in tourism, health care, construction, teaching and the yachting sector apply for permission to employ you through the Ministry of National Security in Kingstown. Permits are tied to that job and employer, time-limited and renewable — you cannot apply for one yourself from Pakistan.

English-speaking Commonwealth state

A common-law legal system, English as the official language and the East Caribbean dollar pegged to the US dollar at EC$2.70 make contracts, documents and banking predictable for Pakistani clients.

FAQ

St Vincent questions, answered

Do Pakistani passport holders need a visa for St Vincent and the Grenadines?

No. St Vincent requires entry visas only from a short list of countries — Afghanistan, Cameroon, China, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Nigeria and Syria — and Pakistan is not on it. You are admitted for up to three months on arrival, extendable at EC$75 cash per month or part of a month at the Immigration Head Office in Kingstown. The visitor's permit covers tourism, family visits, medical treatment and business meetings only — never paid work or study.

How do I actually get to St Vincent from Pakistan?

This is the hard part, not the visa. There are no direct flights; Argyle International Airport is served from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Toronto and London, plus the regional hubs of Barbados and Trinidad. Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago are themselves visa-free for Pakistani passport holders for 90 days, but getting to either from Pakistan means connecting through the UK, the US, Canada or the Schengen area — all of which require a visa or an airport transit visa for Pakistani nationals. We plan the transit visa first and the trip second.

Is there citizenship or residency by investment in St Vincent?

No. St Vincent and the Grenadines is the only independent Eastern Caribbean state that has never operated a citizenship-by-investment programme, so anyone offering you an "SVG passport for investment" is selling a fraud — report it and walk away. Investors instead incorporate a company and hold a work permit as its director, and buying land or property requires an Alien Land Holding Licence, which does not by itself grant any right to reside.

Can I arrive as a visitor and then find a job, or stay on after studying?

You may attend interviews on a visitor's permit, but you cannot start work until your employer's work permit application is approved by the Ministry of National Security. There is no post-study or graduate work visa — graduates need a fresh employer-sponsored permit or they leave. Working or overstaying on a visitor's permit leads to removal and makes future entry to St Vincent and neighbouring Caribbean states much harder.
