Hungary visas, from Pakistan.

The standard short-stay visa for tourism, family visits, business meetings, trade fairs and events — up to 90 days in any 180-day period across Hungary and the wider Schengen area. Filed at the Hungarian mission in Islamabad or its appointed application centre. Popular with Faisalabad textile and machinery buyers attending Budapest exhibitions as well as with family visitors.

• Machine-readable passport valid 3+ months beyond the return date, issued within the last 10 years, with two blank pages
• Completed Schengen application form, two 35x45mm photographs and biometrics given at the appointment
• Confirmed return flight reservation, hotel bookings and a day-by-day itinerary

Pakistani passport holders are on the EU common list of nationalities requiring an airport transit visa, even when they never leave the international transit area of a Hungarian airport. Needed for connections through Budapest to a non-Schengen destination.

A long-stay residence permit for patients undergoing treatment at a Hungarian medical facility, and for one accompanying family member or guardian. Short courses of treatment are covered instead by an ordinary Schengen Type C visa.

• Original statement from the Hungarian hospital or clinic naming the treatment, start date and expected duration
• Proof of funds or a written cost undertaking covering treatment plus living costs
• Accommodation proof in Hungary (clinic, lease or hotel booking)
• Health insurance, or written confirmation that treatment costs are settled

The main route for degree study at an accredited Hungarian university, also covering vocational and public-education programmes and university-run preparatory or Hungarian-language foundation years. This is the permit Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders apply for once their award is confirmed. Issued for the study period and renewed as the programme continues.

• Unconditional letter of acceptance from the accredited Hungarian institution, or the Stipendium award letter
• Tuition receipt for at least the first instalment (not applicable to fully funded scholarship holders)
• Bank statements or a notarised sponsor affidavit covering living costs for the study year
• Dormitory allocation letter or a signed tenancy contract showing the Hungarian address
• Health insurance valid in Hungary, plus IELTS/TOEFL or a medium-of-instruction letter where the programme requires it
• HEC-attested and, where required, apostilled transcripts and degrees, with Enter Hungary pre-submission

For researchers and doctoral-level academics carrying out a project under a hosting agreement with an accredited Hungarian research organisation or university. Allows teaching alongside research and leads on to the job-seeking and entrepreneurship permit once the project ends.

Hungary's route for highly qualified professionals holding a degree and a matching job offer — open to Pakistani nationals with no country-list restriction. Carries family reunification rights and, after twelve months of Blue Card residence, mobility to other EU member states.

• Signed work contract or binding job offer of at least 6 months for a highly qualified post
• Higher education diploma from a programme of 3+ years, attested, apostilled and officially translated
• Gross salary at or above the Blue Card threshold published for the filing year — it is pegged to the Hungarian average gross wage and re-set annually, so confirm the exact figure before signing
• Employer's single-permit application filed in Hungary with the labour authority
• Proof of Hungarian accommodation and health insurance

A skilled-work residence permit with no salary threshold, for occupations named in a ministerial decree — typically IT, engineering and natural-science roles, plus listed professional athletes, coaches, performing artists and film-industry staff. Valid up to three years and renewable, with family reunification allowed.

• Job offer or contract in an occupation on the current ministerial decree list — the list is amended, so it must be checked at filing
• Foreign degree or professional qualification for the role, attested and officially translated
• Employer's application filed in Hungary through the Enter Hungary platform
• Proof of Hungarian accommodation and health insurance
• Valid passport and a clean immigration record with no Schengen entry ban

For managers, specialists and trainee employees transferred from a Pakistani parent or group company to its Hungarian subsidiary or branch. Managers and specialists may stay up to three years, trainees up to one year.

• Proof of continuous prior employment with the sending company abroad (allow 6–12 months of payslips and contract)
• Assignment letter stating role, gross salary, duration and the Hungarian host entity
• Company register extracts or an ownership chart proving the group relationship between the Pakistani and Hungarian entities
• Degree or professional qualification matching the manager or specialist role; trainees need a recent degree and a training agreement
• Hungarian accommodation proof and health insurance

For third-country nationals working as self-employed persons or acting as executive officer of a Hungarian company — the practical route for a Pakistani business owner running a Kft. Eligibility for guest-type permits is fixed by government decree and revised periodically, so we verify the current rules and income level before any file is opened.

• Hungarian company documents (founding deed, court registration, tax and VAT numbers) or self-employed registration
• Business plan supported by contracts, invoices or letters of intent showing genuine activity
• Evidence of income or capital meeting the level required for the filing year — confirm the current threshold before committing funds
• Company bank account statements and a lease or title for the registered seat
• Personal accommodation proof, health insurance and documented lawful source of funds

Hungary's remote-work residence permit for people employed by, or holding a share in, a company registered outside Hungary and working online from Hungary. Valid one year and extendable once. No Hungarian employment or clients are allowed on it, no family reunification is possible, and time on it does not count towards long-term residence.

• Employment contract with, or ownership documents for, a company registered outside Hungary
• Six months of bank statements showing at least EUR 3,000 net per month from that foreign source — the threshold has been raised before, so confirm the current level
• Written confirmation that the work is performed remotely using IT, with no Hungarian employer or client
• Hungarian address (lease or booking) and health insurance valid in Hungary
• Pakistani police character certificate and valid passport

Hungary's residency-by-investment programme: a ten-year permit, renewable once, for investors placing EUR 250,000 in regulated Hungarian real estate fund units or donating EUR 1,000,000 to a qualifying higher education institution. The direct residential property purchase option was removed before it ever opened, so any agent still offering it is out of date.

• EUR 250,000 in units of a real estate fund registered with the Hungarian National Bank, held at least 5 years, or a EUR 1,000,000 donation to a qualifying higher education institution
• Guest investor D visa obtained first; the investment must be completed and the residence permit applied for within its validity
• Full source-of-funds file — tax returns, sale deeds, audited accounts and a traceable bank trail
• Pakistani police clearance certificate and no entry ban in the Schengen area
• Health insurance and proof of means for every family member included in the application

The post-study and post-research permit: graduates of Hungarian institutions and researchers who have completed their project may stay up to nine months to find matching work or launch a business. It cannot be extended, but it can be converted into a Hungarian Card, EU Blue Card or self-employment permit.

• Hungarian degree certificate, or the host institution's confirmation that the research project is complete
• Application filed in Hungary through the Enter Hungary platform before the current permit expires
• Bank statements showing funds to support yourself through the job-search period

For the spouse or registered partner, minor children and dependent parents of a Hungarian citizen. The strongest family route, leading to settlement; naturalisation comes later and requires further years of residence plus a Hungarian-language constitutional exam.

• Nikah nama or marriage certificate, or birth certificate, apostilled in Pakistan and certified-translated into Hungarian
• Sponsor's Hungarian passport or ID card together with the Hungarian address card

Lets the spouse and minor children of a Hungarian resident — EU Blue Card, Hungarian Card, ICT, student, researcher or investor permit holder — join them in Hungary. Dependent parents are possible only in limited, well-evidenced cases, and White Card and guest-worker holders cannot sponsor family at all.
