Greece visas, from Pakistan.

Short-stay visa for up to 90 days in any 180 for tourism, visiting relatives or friends, or short-term medical treatment. Issued by the Greek Embassy in Islamabad through its appointed visa application centre in Pakistan.

• Completed Schengen application form and passport issued within the last 10 years, valid 3+ months beyond your return date, with two blank pages
• Confirmed return flight reservation and hotel bookings covering every night of the trip
• Last 6 months of personal bank statements, bank-stamped, showing at least €50 per day of stay (minimum around €300)
• Travel medical insurance valid in all Schengen states with €30,000 minimum cover
• Salary certificate and employer leave letter, or company registration plus NTN and the last 2 years of FBR tax returns
• Fingerprints and photo taken in person at the visa application centre; the embassy may call you for interview

The same short-stay Schengen visa, filed under a business purpose: meetings, negotiations, trade fairs, supplier visits or contract signing with Greek partners. Same 90/180 rule, but assessed on the commercial relationship rather than a tourist itinerary.

• Invitation letter on the Greek company's letterhead stating exact dates, purpose and who bears travel and stay costs
• Pakistani company registration (SECP or Form-C), NTN certificate and 6 months of company bank statements
• Cover letter from your employer or fellow directors confirming your position, salary and return to duty
• Trade-fair registration, purchase orders, invoices or prior email correspondence evidencing the business link
• Travel medical insurance with €30,000 Schengen-wide cover and a confirmed return ticket

Pakistan is on the Schengen list of nationalities that require an airport transit visa, so this is mandatory to change planes airside at Athens without entering Greece. You are exempt if you already hold a valid Schengen visa or residence permit, or a valid visa or residence permit for the USA, Canada, Japan or an EEA state.

• Confirmed onward ticket to a final destination outside the Schengen area on the same journey
• Valid visa or entry right for the country of final destination and for any onward transit point
• Passport valid at least 3 months beyond the transit date, issued within the last 10 years
• Full booking itinerary showing you remain airside and do not clear Greek immigration

Long-stay residence route for retirees and others living on passive income who will not work in Greece. Employment and self-employment in Greece are not allowed on this permit (remote work for foreign clients belongs on the Digital Nomad route). Under the current Immigration Code the permit is granted for up to three years and is renewable.

• Evidence of at least €3,500 net per month in stable passive income, +20% for a spouse and +15% per child
• Pension statements, rental agreements, dividend vouchers or savings certificates backed by 12 months of bank statements
• Private health insurance policy covering hospital and outpatient treatment in Greece for the permit period
• Registered lease or title deed for accommodation in Greece
• Pakistani police character certificate, apostilled by MOFA Islamabad and translated into Greek by a certified translator

For Pakistani students admitted to a Greek public university or another recognised Greek higher education institution. The visa converts into a study residence permit after arrival, and holders may take part-time work (commonly up to 20 hours a week) alongside their course.

• Unconditional admission letter from a recognised Greek higher education institution
• Degrees and transcripts attested by HEC and apostilled by MOFA Islamabad, with certified Greek translation
• Proof of maintenance funds of roughly €600 per month for the study period, plus the tuition payment receipt
• Health insurance covering the full period of stay in Greece
• Police character certificate (apostilled) and a medical certificate from an approved hospital

For PhD candidates and researchers invited by a Greek university or approved research organisation under a formal hosting agreement. Spouse and minor children can accompany the researcher on family permits.

• Signed hosting agreement with a research organisation on the approved Greek register
• PhD or equivalent qualification, or documented admission to a doctoral programme
• Written undertaking from the host covering salary or scholarship, insurance and return costs
• Degree documents attested by HEC, apostilled by MOFA and translated into Greek
• Police character certificate, apostilled

Graduates of Greek institutions and researchers finishing a hosting agreement can stay on for a further period (EU rules set a nine-month floor; Greece currently issues a one-year permit) to look for work or set up a business matching their qualification, then switch to an employment permit.

• Greek degree certificate, or written confirmation from the host that the research project is complete
• Valid study or research residence permit held immediately before applying
• Application lodged at the Immigration Directorate in Greece before the existing permit expires
• Bank evidence of sufficient funds and continuing health insurance for the job-search period

The standard employer-sponsored route: a Greek employer files for a position inside the government's published labour quota (metaklisi), and only after that approval is the Type D visa issued to you in Pakistan. Permits under the current Immigration Code run for three years and are renewable.

• Position approved within the current national quota for your region and occupation
• Signed employment contract of at least six months at or above the Greek statutory minimum wage for the role
• Employer's declaration of adequate accommodation and payment of the statutory permit fee
• Trade certificates, experience letters or qualifications attested by HEC where applicable, apostilled and translated into Greek
• Police character certificate, apostilled; Type D visa collected in Islamabad before you travel

For highly qualified professionals holding a degree-level job offer in Greece. It sits outside the ordinary labour quota, is issued for up to three years (or contract length plus three months), and gives faster family reunification and easier movement to other EU states after 12 months.

• Binding job offer or signed contract for a highly qualified post with a Greek employer, valid at least six months
• Gross salary at or above the Greek Blue Card threshold — a multiple of the national average gross salary, indicatively €30,000–€35,000 a year; confirm the figure in force on the filing date
• University degree of at least three years' study, or professional experience accepted as equivalent (three years within the last seven for listed IT roles)
• Degree attested by HEC, apostilled, and recognised by DOATAP where the profession is regulated
• Health insurance certificate and apostilled police character certificate

Up to nine months of work in any twelve months in agriculture, tourism and food processing, under the quotas the government sets each period. Workers who comply can use the multi-year re-entry facility to return in later seasons without restarting from scratch.

• Named job offer from a registered Greek employer holding an approved seasonal quota slot for your occupation and region
• Written contract capped at nine months within any twelve-month period, at legal Greek wage levels
• Employer's certified declaration of adequate accommodation and a return-travel guarantee
• Type D seasonal visa issued in Islamabad before departure
• Passport with no Schengen overstay record and no unresolved refusal or entry ban

For managers, specialists and trainee employees transferred from a Pakistani company to a Greek entity of the same corporate group. Valid up to three years for managers and specialists, one year for trainees.

• Proof of prior employment with the same group, typically six to twelve continuous months before the transfer
• Assignment letter setting out role, duration, salary and place of work in Greece
• Corporate documents (share registers, group structure chart, audited accounts) proving the Pakistani and Greek entities belong to one group
• Qualifications matching the post, and remuneration comparable to Greek staff in equivalent roles
• Written undertaking that you return to a group entity outside the EU at the end of the transfer

For remote employees, freelancers and business owners whose clients and employers are outside Greece. Pakistani nationals must obtain the national (Type D) digital nomad visa at the Greek Embassy before travelling; it then converts into a two-year renewable residence permit.

• Employment contract or client service agreements with companies registered outside Greece
• Minimum €3,500 net monthly income, +20% for a spouse and +15% per child
• Six to twelve months of bank statements showing that income actually landing
• Signed sworn declaration that you will not provide services to employers or clients established in Greece
• Health insurance covering Greece for the permit period and a registered lease or hotel booking as proof of accommodation

Five-year renewable EU residence for qualifying investors, with no minimum stay requirement. Residence only — Greece has no citizenship-by-investment scheme, and time on this permit only counts towards naturalisation if you genuinely live in Greece.

• Property of €800,000 in Attica, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini and islands over 3,100 population, or €400,000 elsewhere — in both cases a single unit of at least 120 sqm
• €250,000 option for converting a commercial building to residential use, or restoring a listed building
• Alternative capital routes from €350,000 into Greek funds, shares, corporate or government bonds
• Full purchase price remitted to Greece through banking channels with documented source of funds
• Written undertaking not to let the investment property on short-term (Airbnb-style) rental, which is prohibited for Golden Visa properties
• Greek tax number (AFM) and Greek bank account; permit extends to your spouse or registered partner and unmarried children under 21

For the spouse or registered partner and minor children of a Pakistani national already holding a Greek residence permit. The sponsor's application is approved in Greece first, and only then is the Type D visa issued in Islamabad.

• Sponsor holding a valid Greek residence permit after at least two years' lawful residence (Blue Card, ICT and investor holders get immediate access)
• Sponsor's tax return (E1) showing annual income at least equal to the annual pay of a full-time worker on the Greek minimum wage — in the region of €12,000–€13,000 gross — plus 20% for a spouse and 15% per child
• NADRA marriage and birth certificates apostilled by MOFA Islamabad, with certified Greek translation
• Registered lease or title deed showing accommodation adequate for the family size
• Health insurance for each applicant and apostilled police character certificates for adults

For the Pakistani spouse or registered partner of a Greek or other EU citizen living in Greece. There is no income threshold, and under EU free-movement rules the entry visa and the five-year residence card are issued free of charge.

• Marriage certificate or registered cohabitation agreement, apostilled by MOFA Islamabad and translated into Greek
• EU or Greek spouse's passport or ID card plus proof of their residence in Greece (lease, tax return or registration certificate)
• Application for the five-year residence card filed at the local Aliens and Immigration office within three months of arrival
• Evidence the relationship is genuine — joint tenancy or bank documents, photographs, communication records
• Passport valid for the duration of the application
