Croatia visas, from Pakistan.

Croatia's standard Schengen visa for tourism, visiting family and friends, or business travel such as meetings, trade fairs and supplier visits. Allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period and is valid throughout the Schengen area.

• Machine-readable passport issued within the last 10 years, valid 3+ months beyond departure, with 2 blank pages
• Application completed at crovisa.mvep.hr, printed and signed, with fingerprints given in person
• Travel medical insurance valid across the Schengen area with at least €30,000 cover
• Confirmed return ticket plus paid accommodation, or a certified letter of guarantee from your host in Croatia
• Six months of personal bank statements showing sufficient funds (Croatia's published guideline is in the region of €70 per person per day)
• Employer leave letter and salary slips, or company registration, NTN and a host-company invitation if travelling on business

Pakistan is on the EU's Annex IV list, so Pakistani passport holders need a Type A visa even to change planes airside at a Croatian or other Schengen airport. It does not permit entry into Croatia.

• Confirmed onward ticket to a destination outside the Schengen area
• Visa or residence permit for the final destination country, where one is required
• Passport valid at least 3 months beyond the transit date
• Evidence of the purpose of the journey; you may not leave the international transit area
• Not needed if you already hold a valid Schengen visa, an EU/EEA residence permit or another listed exempting document

The entry visa issued after Croatia has approved your temporary stay or stay-and-work permit, so you can travel to Croatia and collect your biometric residence card.

• MUP decision approving your temporary stay or stay-and-work permit
• Passport valid at least 3 months beyond the intended validity of the visa
• Health insurance valid in Croatia for the initial period of stay
• Application form from crovisa.mvep.hr with photo and fingerprints lodged at the mission competent for Pakistan
• Proof of payment of the visa fee

A discretionary, non-working temporary stay granted where there is a justified reason that does not fit the other categories — most commonly medical treatment at a Croatian clinic. Note that owning property in Croatia is not by itself a ground for residence.

• Written admission letter or treatment plan from the Croatian hospital or clinic, with estimated cost and duration
• Proof of funds to cover the entire stay and the treatment without working
• Health insurance valid in Croatia
• Police character certificate, apostilled and translated into Croatian by a court interpreter
• Registered Croatian address — lease agreement or host's notarised statement
• Granted for up to one year at a time and carries no right to work

Residence permit for non-EU students admitted to an accredited Croatian university or polytechnic. Granted for up to one year at a time and renewed for each year of the programme.

• Enrolment or admission letter from an accredited Croatian higher-education institution
• Proof of paid or arranged tuition plus maintenance funds for the academic year
• HEC-attested and apostilled degrees and transcripts, translated into Croatian by a court interpreter
• Health insurance valid in Croatia and a medical certificate issued within the last 90 days
• Police character certificate, apostilled and translated
• Be aware that time spent studying counts only at half rate towards the five years for EU long-term residence

For PhD candidates and researchers holding a hosting agreement with an accredited Croatian research organisation or university, under the EU researchers directive. Spouse and children can apply for family reunification alongside.

• Signed hosting agreement with a research organisation on the accredited Croatian register
• Doctorate, or a degree giving access to doctoral programmes, apostilled and translated into Croatian
• Proof of salary, grant or scholarship covering the full research period
• Health insurance valid in Croatia
• Police character certificate, apostilled and translated

Croatia's main employer-sponsored route — one combined document covering both residence and work. The Croatian employer files it; you cannot lodge this application yourself from Pakistan.

• Signed employment contract with a registered Croatian employer stating post, salary and working hours
• Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) labour-market test, unless the job is on the shortage-occupation list or you are renewing with the same employer
• Proof the employer is registered, actively trading and free of outstanding tax and contribution debt
• HEC-attested and apostilled qualification and experience certificates, translated into Croatian
• Pakistani police character certificate, apostilled and translated
• Normally issued for up to one year at a time and tied to the named employer and job

For agriculture, forestry, hospitality and tourism roles. Work is capped at six months in any calendar year, after which you must leave Croatia; you may change employer when extending within that six-month window.

• Seasonal job offer from a registered Croatian employer in agriculture, forestry, hospitality or tourism
• Accommodation meeting the legal standard: solid building, running water, heating, electricity, maximum six people per room and at least 14 m² for a single occupant
• Any accommodation charge deducted by the employer capped at 30% of net salary, documented in a lease or equivalent
• No labour-market test for the first 90 days a year in these sectors; an HZZ test applies beyond that
• Passport valid beyond the season and a Pakistani police character certificate, apostilled and translated
• Seasonal periods do not count towards the five years needed for EU long-term residence

Croatia's route for highly qualified professionals with a Croatian job offer. No labour-market test is required, and family members are granted stay for the same period as the card.

• Employment contract of at least one year for a highly qualified post; the card runs for the contract period
• Gross salary of at least 1.5× the average Croatian gross salary — roughly €2,800–3,000 a month at 2026 levels; confirm the current published figure before applying
• Recognised higher-education diploma, apostilled, translated and assessed for recognition in Croatia
• Proof you meet any licensing requirement where the profession is regulated
• Health insurance and a Pakistani police character certificate, apostilled and translated
• You may work only in the job and for the employer named on the card

For managers, specialists and trainee employees posted to a Croatian branch or group company by their employer abroad. No labour-market test applies.

• Proof of prior employment with the sending company — Croatia applies the EU minimum of at least three months; confirm the period required for your grade
• Assignment letter stating role, salary, place of work and duration
• Documentary proof of the ownership or group link between the sending and host companies
• University degree, or documented evidence of the specialist expertise the post requires
• Maximum stay of three years for managers and specialists, one year for trainees

For entrepreneurs running their own Croatian company (d.o.o.) or registered craft business (obrt) with an ownership share of at least 51%. No labour-market test, but the business must be genuinely trading — this is not a passive investment route.

• Croatian d.o.o. or obrt registered with you holding an ownership share of at least 51%
• Court register extract, tax registration and evidence the company is trading with taxes and contributions paid
• Evidence of the statutory investment and employment thresholds — in practice around €26,500 invested and three full-time Croatian or EEA employees; verify the current figures before incorporating
• Business bank statements and, where applicable, filed annual accounts
• Pakistani police character certificate, apostilled and translated into Croatian

Remote workers employed by, or owning, a company registered outside Croatia may live in Croatia for up to 18 months. It does not allow work for Croatian employers or clients, and it is not a route to permanent residence.

• Employment or service contract with a non-Croatian company, or proof you own a company registered outside Croatia
• Proof of income of at least €3,622.50 per month, or savings of €43,470 for a 12-month stay (€65,205 for 18 months)
• Pakistani police character certificate, apostilled and translated into Croatian
• Health insurance valid in Croatia for the whole period of stay
• Croatian address — registered lease agreement or a host's notarised statement
• Maximum 18 months; a fresh application is only possible six months after the previous permit expires

For spouses, common-law and registered life partners, minor children and, in limited cases, other dependent relatives joining a Croatian citizen or a foreign national who already holds residence in Croatia.

• NADRA-registered marriage certificate or birth certificate, apostilled and translated into Croatian by a court interpreter
• Sponsor's proof of stable and regular means of subsistence for the whole family, plus evidence of adequate accommodation
• Health insurance covering each family member in Croatia
• A sponsor holding a one-year stay-and-work permit must already have held temporary stay for at least one year before family can join
• Family members of EU Blue Card holders are granted stay matching the validity of the Blue Card
• Family members of Croatian citizens can apply for permanent stay after four years of uninterrupted temporary stay
