Palau visas, from Pakistan.

The free 30-day visa stamped at Palau International Airport (Roman Tmetuchl, Airai) for tourism, diving, family visits or short meetings. Issued to Pakistani passport holders with no prior application; the identical 30-day Business Visa covers meetings and conferences. Neither permits any paid work.

• Passport valid at least 6 months beyond arrival
• Confirmed return or onward air ticket
• Proof of funds for the stay — roughly US$200 per week
• Palau Entry Form QR code submitted at palautravel.pw no more than 72 hours before departure
• Palau Pledge signed in your passport at the immigration counter
• For extensions: apply in Koror about 7 days before expiry — maximum two 30-day extensions, roughly 90 days in total

The main employment route. A Palau-registered employer first obtains your labour permit from the Bureau of Labor & Human Resources; Immigration then issues a Work Permit visa valid for the same period as that labour permit. Common in hospitality, construction, retail, fisheries and skilled trades, and tied to the sponsoring employer.

• Signed job offer and employment contract with a business registered in Palau
• Employer's labour permit application to the Bureau of Labor & Human Resources, filed after the vacancy has been advertised to resident workers
• Police character certificate from Pakistan issued within the last 3 months, showing no felony or crime of moral turpitude, MOFA-attested
• Medical clearance from an approved examination
• Passport valid 6+ months, passport copy and recent ID photograph
• Do not travel or start work until the labour permit or provisional labour visa is issued — changing employer requires a fresh permit

For owners and managers of a foreign-invested business. The Foreign Investment Board issues the Foreign Investment Approval Certificate (FIAC) for the approved activity, and Immigration then issues an Investor Visa for up to five years, never longer than the FIAC term. No more than four Investor Visas may be live against a single FIAC.

• FIAC granted by the Foreign Investment Board before any commercial activity begins
• At least a 25% equity interest in the Palau business
• Business plan with proof of capital and source of funds; an office, books of account kept in English and a bank account maintained in Palau
• Police clearance, affidavit of support and Palau business registration, licence and tax documents
• Premises leased, not purchased — only Palauan citizens may hold title to land or waters
• Activities reserved under 28 PNC §105 (handicraft and gift shops, bakeries, stand-alone bar services and others) need a Palauan citizen co-owner

Palau's residence-by-property route: a 10-year resident visa with unlimited multiple entries, renewable for further 10-year terms and capped at 1,000 holders at any time. It buys residence, not employment — holders may not hold a labour permit — and it leads to no citizenship.

• Signed contract with a Palauan citizen to purchase or lease a dwelling for at least US$250,000, paid in full
• No felony convictions — police clearance plus a notarised statement
• Comprehensive health insurance valid in Palau
• Verification of annual income and means of support
• Spouse and children aged 21 or under may be added, each at the dependant fee
• Accept the limits — no labour permit, so no employment, and no title to land

For foreign nationals enrolled full-time at a school in Palau who will live in housing maintained by the school — in practice Palau Community College, the country's only tertiary institution. Issued for up to one year at a time. Students may not work unless expressly exempted in writing by the Director of Immigration, and there is no post-study work visa.

• Letter of acceptance from Palau Community College or another licensed school in Palau
• Full-time class schedule for the semester
• Accommodation in housing maintained by the school
• Passport valid 6+ months, passport copy and a recent ID photograph
• MOFA-attested academic transcripts and certificates as required by the college, plus proof of funds for tuition and living costs

For the spouse and children under 21 of a Palauan citizen, or of a foreign national holding a valid work permit or other visa. Issued for up to five years, but where the sponsor is not Palauan it expires with the sponsor's visa. It carries no work rights of its own.

• Proof of the sponsor's status — Palauan citizenship, or a valid work permit or other visa
• NADRA marriage certificate for a spouse, or children's birth certificates, MOFA-attested for use in Palau
• Evidence of household income of at least US$15,000 per year
• Passports valid 6+ months, passport copies and recent ID photographs for each dependant
• A separate labour permit from the Bureau of Labor & Human Resources before any dependant may work

A discretionary residence visa of up to two years, issued by the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection to foreign nationals with a settled reason to live in Palau — commonly the foreign spouse or family of a resident. It does not by itself authorise work: employment or business still needs a labour permit or a FIAC.

• Notarised statement of your purpose for residing in Palau
• Physical/medical examination report
• Police clearance plus a notarised sworn statement of no felony convictions
• Signed lease agreement for accommodation in Palau, bank statements and a completed income and expenditure form
• Release letter from your former employer where applicable, passport copy and recent ID photograph

Palau's digital residency card is an identity and KYC product, not a residence permit — but Immigration recognises it: a Digital Resident who has entered on a tourist visa may take up to two consecutive 90-day extensions in a calendar year. No right to work, settle or own land, and the extensions are refused to anyone who entered Palau unlawfully.

• Extension fees paid monthly and full compliance with Palau's immigration regulations
